The Reds won Game one vs Phoenix 50′s 7-1 with a combined no hitter with pitchers Jared Liebeck going six strong and Brian Counciler closing up the 7th. Game two defeated long time rival Luke AFB 10-5 with Eric Van Slyke tossing a strong 6 innings to shut down Luke’s bats.

They are now affiliated with a team in the mesa league (not sure which team) most of the same guys. • The 2011 Summer Season is scheduled to run from May 1 – Oct. 1, 2011, and will feature a 22 game season.

Were back by popular demand. To catch everyone up following our vacation, K4 Sports won the Victory lane league. and The Bushwackers get their first title winning the Peoria Wednesday night tournament. and the Theives will play the Dawg Pound for the ASBA title.
Game of the week recap:
The Bushwackers beat the Dodgers to win the first title in team history,in the Peoria Wednesday night league. The Bushwackers railed from a 4-1 deficit to win 5 to 4 but the Bushwackers had extended the lead in the last inning but time limit reverted the score back to the last inning. The Bushwackers were dotted with members of the rival Brew Crew as the teams combined to form an unstoppable force that was unbeaten through out the tournament. Championship game highlights included a 2 run game for Joe O’toole including a solo home run That started a 4 run fifth inning and and 3 hits by Wilson Burwell including 2 doubles.

The playoff for the first weeknight league for the city of Peoria starts this Wednesday night. The seeding are not out but you can see all games at one location Wednesday night 7 PM on the Padres side of the complex.

All the summer league have officially wrapped up. The Summer came to an end as the Brew Crew beat the Bushwackers 4-3 on their way to a 3rd consecutive Peoria Title This was the second championship game in a row to feature the two teams. One has to wonder how good the Bushwackers would have been if the Brew Crew wasn’t around. Example,over the current 3 titles for the Brew Crew twice the Bushwackers won the season pennant. Also the Brew Crew beat the Bushwackers all 3 season in the Playoffs on their way to those titles. Is it possible that if the Brew Crew Played in the Sunday portion of the Peoria league that we would be talking about a Bushwackers 3 peat? I don’t Know I’m just sayin.
Game of the week recap:
The Final champion of the summer was crowned and the Brew Crew extends their dominance in the Peoria league,beating the Bushwackers 4-3 in the Peoria Saturday Championship game. The game was closely contended with the Bushwackers leading for most of the game. A 3 run home run by Wilson Burwell put the Brew Crew ahead 3-2 in the 5th The Bushwackers would rally to tie it,but the Brew Crew manufactured one more. Just enough for the win. The Brew Crew was carried by Greg Knaus striking out 10 and allowing just 1 earned in 7 innings. The Brew Crew has now made it 3 straight titles in the Peoria league.

Very busy week last week so lets start with the NABA world series were the valley was well represented The Angels reach the semi finals in the 18 a division the Diamond Jaxx reached the semis in the 18 w division and the Legends win the 18 aa. Congratulations to all those squads. Also the KPTZ Assault wins the AABL league. Two champs were crowned since our last post and we are still waiting from results from the AABL playoffs.
First the Diamond Jaxx sweep the Land Sharks in the 3 game series to decide the MABL. The Diamond Jaxx won 10-6 and 8-6 over the Land Sharks and were a perfect 4 and 0 in the MABL playoffs.The Peoria Reds capped off their welcome back tour as they beat the Angels 6-2 in the Peoria Sunday league championship.
Game of the week recap:
We watched the Peoria Sunday title game as the Reds beat the Angels for the title. The Angels would hold an early edge but a 5 run 6th inning by the Reds would doom the Angels. Reds win the title 6-2.

Everyone is in playoff mode around the valley. We have a championship match up in the Peoria Sunday league. A commanding lead in the MABL championship and the AABL and Peoria Saturday leagues are coming to a close.
Game of the week recap:
We were in Peoria for the regular season title last weekend. We showed up but the top ranked Brew Crew forgot to. The # 7 ranked Bushwackers put a hurting on the Brew Crew to end the 4 game slide in the rivalry. Final 19-2. Highlights included 4 home runs by the Wackers. The Bushwackers win the Peoria season title and now have to be the favorites to win the uber talented Peoria Saturday league.

GAME OF THE WEEK:
Peoria Sunday league championship game Angels vs the Reds. The Angels won the first meeting but throw that out as the Reds are officially back. Sunday 7 pm at Peoria sports complex in the main stadium.
The Peoria League is going to have a fall tournament it will be an 8-team maximum tournament format. The idea is that play will begin on October 6th and will end on November 10th. Games will be on Wednesday nights at 7pm and will consist of 9 innings or no new inning after 3 hours. First will be a round of pool play and then bracket play. Teams are guaranteed five games. It playoff time for most of the active leagues around town. The MABL regular season champs go down in the playoffs,and the Saturday Peoria season title comes down to the last week.
Game of the week recap:
The MABL playoffs were less competitive than expected as the Diamond Jaxx sweep the AZ Legends winning game 1 6-0 and game 2 14-4 the league champs the Zona Knights were upset by the Land Sharks 14-1 in game 1 and 6-4 in game 2. The championship series pits the Diamond Jaxx versus the Land Sharks.

With the playoff schedule for the AABL and MABL not out yet we will say the game of the week is the Brew Crew Bushwackers game in Peroia for the regular season title. This is a make up game from a rain out. If the league didn’t schedule it right somebody wanted this game at the end of the season. The Brew Crew beat the Bushwackers in the championship game last season the Brw Crew have won four in a row in the rivalry.

We saw the KPTZ Assault beat the Black Sox in the AABL. 9-6 The Assault got out to a big lead 8 to nothing but the Black Sox would rally falling just short. It is worth mentioning the Black Sox would avenge this lost last Tuesday beating the Assault 15-7.

For our game of the week last week we were out at Peoria sports complex again to see the West Valley Scorpions face the Bushwackers. The Bushwackers would win 8 to 6 carried by the big stick of their catcher who cracked a solo homerun in the 5th the Bushwackers never looked back. Richie Lopez got another win taking him to 3 and 0 in the Peoria league.

Last week was filled with a ton of great games. You can find recaps in the league pages. The MABL is very tight as five teams fight for four spots in the playoffs. A big shake up in the AABL as the Titans lose in the game of the week. The Peoria league looks great again,but the big story is the upstart A’s on Saturday. And what is up with the Angels no losses on Sunday, no wins on Saturday?
Game of the week recap:
We saw the Titans battle the Black Sox last week. The Black Sox coming away with a 6-1 win carried by their left handed starting pitcher. The game was close the whole night but the Titans would be let down time and time again by their offense. The Titans starting pitcher struck out 13 in 6 innings but got no help from his offense the Titans are now a game and a half behind the Black Sox in the AABL.

The 5-0′s blew out the Isotopes last week and are right on track in the Peoria league 4-1 on Sundays Casey Jones and the Reds this week.
#3 Zona Knights
The Knight have all but sealed a playoff birth in the MABL,now 14-4-1 after a big win over the Diamond Jaxx 3-2. The Knights play the Monsoon and the fast rising Durham Bulls this week.
#4 KPTZ Assault
The Assault had their games canceled tlast week. And play the Cabanas this week.
#5 Angels
The hardest working team in town went 2-1-2 last week big win came in the Victory Lane championship game winning 6-2 over the Stealth. Just 4 games this week as the Angels take it easy for a week.
#6 Brew Crew
The Crew had a good week beating 2 teams that were in the top 10 8-5 over the Bushwackers then a 15-4 pounding of the Angels the Brew Crew back in contention in Peoria just a game out of first.
#7 Black Sox
The Black Sox won 2 last week. A big win over the Titans 6-1 in the game of the week,and 6-4 over the Cabanas. Lumber Jacks and Night Hawks on the schedule for the 8-1 Black Sox.
#8 AZ Legends
The Legends got a big win over the Land Sharks and are now in sole possession of second place in the MABL. With a very manageable schedule left the Legends move back to one of the favorites in the MABL.
A tough loss to the Black Sox drops the Titans to 6-2 now, and third in the AABL.
#10 Peoria Athletics
These fast risers are 5-0 in the Peoria league with wins over the Brew Crew and Angels.
One quick note congrats to Richie Lopez on his no-hitter 8/14/10 against the Padres. Richie threw 7 striking out 7 walking 2 1 HBP no runs on no hits way to go.
GAME OF THE WEEK:
Out to Peoria as the 3-1 Bushwackers play the 3-1 Scorpions. Both teams are perennial contenders,and in the hunt again. Look for a high scoring game as these two teams both have high powered offenses. 8AM Saturday 8/28/2012 fieald M 6 Peoria sports complex.
